Mother of Four Allegedly Killed With Hammer by Boyfriend, Son Discovers Body

The identity of a woman who was allegedly killed in a violent attack in Kwena Moloto near Seshego has been confirmed as Raisibe Mohaya.

According to information available at this stage, Mohaya was allegedly assaulted with a hammer at her home. She later succumbed to her injuries.

The tragic discovery was made by her 19-year-old son, who found her body when he returned home from school. The incident has left family members, neighbours and the wider community in shock.

Mohaya leaves behind four children aged 19, 14, 10 and 6. The devastating loss has raised serious concerns about the emotional and psychological impact such violence has on children and families.

Authorities have confirmed that the suspect, who is believed to be Mohaya’s boyfriend, has handed himself over to the police. He is expected to appear before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 27 February.

Police investigations are ongoing, and further details surrounding the circumstances of the alleged attack have not yet been released. Law enforcement officials are expected to provide more information as the case progresses through the court system.

The incident has once again sparked conversations around gender-based violence and the safety of women in South Africa. Community members have expressed outrage and sadness, calling for justice and stronger measures to protect vulnerable individuals.

Support organisations continue to urge anyone experiencing domestic violence or abuse to seek help from authorities or trusted community structures.

The matter now shifts to the courts, where the accused will face legal proceedings. Updates are expected following his court appearance.

More details will be shared as they become available.
